Pathway to Success
At Creekside "EXCEL" is referred to as the Creekside "Pathway to Success." It is a process that identifies the skill level of each student in language arts and then provides direct instruction at their skill level for 40 minutes each day. The program utilizes ongoing staff collaboration, assessment-based decision making and high academic expectations for each child.
Creekside Early Learning Center made a very important decision to implement the Hesperia "EXCEL" model: Excellence: A Commitment to Every Learner that meets the No Child Left Behind Act.
We begin the school year helping our Kindergarten children acclimate to the school experience, assess student skill levels and then begin the teacher collaboration process to commit to being a Professional Learning Community.
Teacher collaboration involves reviewing and discussing student assessment data to determine individual student needs and the best instruction to help all students achieve their greatest potential. Teacher collaboration is held, after school, every Wednesday. Teacher and instructional Aide collaboration is held the first Monday of each month.
