End of the Year Information
The fifth grade Celebration of Success will be held on our center lawn on Wednesday, June 11 at 1:30. You should plan to arrive early for parking and shaded seating. The last day of school is Thursday, June 12. School will dismiss on Thursday at 12:30 P.M. Remember to check the Lost and Found. All items left in the Lost and Found will be donated to charity after the last day of school.

Boulder Oaks' Talent Show is Coming!
The Boulder Oaks Talent Show will be held on Friday, May 30 from 6-8 PM at the Viejas Outlet Center concert stage! We hope you can join us for this free, family event. Our Boulder Oaks stars will shine on the stage, and you'll even see performances by some familiar Boulder Oaks staff faces! While you're there, stop by Cold Stone for an ice cream served by some of your favorite teachers. Hope to see you there on Friday night!

Implementation of School Bus Transportation Fees
On April 9th, the Board of Trustees accepted my recommendation and approved charging a fee for school bus transportation starting in the 2008/09 school year. This was done reluctantly, but was a necessary action given the dismal outlook for education funding in the state budget.

Western Days 2008
Western Days 2008 was a huge success! This annual carnival and fundraiser for our PTA boasted a great turn out and lots of fun events for Boulder Oaks families. Boulder Oaks' Employees of the Year
Congratulations to Yvette Maier and Cindy Unden, Boulder Oaks' Employees of the Year! Yvette Maier has been a Boulder Oaks teacher for two years. In that time, she has served as her grade level team leader and also a School Site Council member. Mrs. Maier organizes the fourth grade trip to Sacramento every year. She is an excellent teacher who is truly dedicated to the success of each student in her classroom. Cindy Unden has worked in the Boulder Oaks health office since the school opened. She has been an AUSD employee for 26 years! Her welcoming smile, friendly demeanor and attentiveness to student needs make the health office a safe and welcoming place for kids. When a student enters the health office, we know he or she will be well-attended to. Mrs. Unden is an asset to our school office staff!

Reading Rocks 2008!
Boulder Oaks' annual reading incentive program, Reading Rocks, ran from January 30, 2008 to February 27, 2008. Boulder Oaks students read a total of 174,291 minutes! Way to go Boulder Oaks! The students enjoyed a Reading Rocks Lunch on Friday, March 7. Visit the photo gallery to see pictures of this fun afternoon. If you look closely, you'll see Mrs. Jeffreys and even some upper grade teachers out dancing with the kids! What a fun reward for all of the students' hard work.

PTA Jog-A-Thon a Huge Success!
The third annual Run for Fun was a great success. Students jogged and walked for 45 minutes while enjoying great music! Thank you so much to all of the parent volunteers who came out to cheer on the students and mark the lap cards. We appreciate your support! Run For Fun
The PTA-Sponsored Jog-a-Thon is this Friday, February 1. Students will receive prizes for sponsorships. The funds raised will be used towards educational technology, including hardware and software upgrades. All sponsorship donations are due by Friday, February 8.
