Visitors/Volunteers

The Alpine Elementary Learning Community has enjoyed a long history of community and parent involvement as volunteers. In an effort to adhere to the law and provide all of the students that attend Alpine Elementary with a safe learning environment, we are asking all classroom volunteers to provide verification of tuberculin skin testing. The office staff at AES will copy the verification provided and maintain it in a file in the office.

Tuberculin skin tests are available through the school district for a fee of $5.00 from our district nurse, Stephanie Abel. Ms. Abel will provide the initial test on a given Tuesday at Creekside and will read the skin test on the following Thursday at JMMS or Friday at Shadow Hills. (Please contact Creekside at (619) 659-8250 to set up your appointment.)

Please note the following procedures for volunteering in our classrooms:

  • Parent and community volunteers must sign in at the school office upon arrival at Alpine Elementary School
  • Parent and community volunteers must wear "Volunteer" or "Visitor" badges (available in the office)
  • When working with students, parents and community volunteers must work in the presence of a staff member
  • Parent and community volunteers must sign out at the school office as they leave campus

In order to protect the classroom learning environment, we request that you keep your cell phone turned off and that younger children not be present with parents during classroom volunteer time.
